Responsible leadership lays out both goals and a plan for achieving their goals. God has said that His creation exists to glorify Him. In order to bring Him glory we seek to build His body through the proclamation and practice of the Gospel. Our plan to fulfill our goal is carried out in four key areas: Commitment, Involvement, Maturity and Shepherding.

 

Commitment

What we expect of our Body:  commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, commitment to corporate worship and activities, commitment to a membership class and membership

 

What our Body can expect from our leadership:  a commitment to love our people by knowing them and taking genuine interest in them, a commitment to caring for them by having them in our lives and homes, a commitment to equip them fully to fulfill their responsibilities

 

Involvement

What we expect of our Body:  involvement in Life Groups, involvement in serving others (especially those in our church) through both personal and Chapel ministries, involvement in local and missionary giving

 

What our Body can expect from leadership:  open promotion of the ministries of The Chapel, intentional calling for involvement in our ministries, presentation of opportunities to invest themselves in local and missionary ministries

 

Maturity

What we expect of our Body:  growing maturity though personal study and discipleship, through group studies, through Sunday School classes, retreats and short-term mission trips

 

What our Body can expect from leadership:  personal discipleship which leads to spiritual maturity, instruction in how to apply the grace of God in Jesus Christ, dedication to working with individuals' hearts toward change, modeling how to love and minister to a spouse, children, the Body and unbelievers

 

Shepherding

What we expect of our Body:  to shepherd their families, church and world toward commitment to, involvement with, and maturity in Christ and His body, with the aim of making new shepherds of others

 

What our Body can expect from leadership:  a living example of shepherding people toward commitment to, involvement with, and maturity in Christ and His body, and a model of reproducing new shepherds for the building up of the Body
