Randy Worland

Pastor Worland has shepherded The Chapel since 1997. He is a graduate of Ball State University and Geneva Reformed Seminary (MDiv) and is passionate about connecting with people and leading them into a meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ. Randy and his wife Beth have five children, ages ranging from 8 to 15 years. Randy is a huge fan of the Cincinnati Reds, colonial history, coin collecting and Indiana politics. Email Randy

Laura Hayes

Laura serves families as director of our children and youth ministries. Born and raised in Indianapolis, she spent her undergrad years at Maranatha Baptist Bible College in Watertown, Wisconsin, majoring in Elementary Education. After teaching in Texas for a year, Laura headed back to Indiana to earn her master's degree in education from Butler University. Her hobbies are reading, trying new things with friends and attending conferences, seminars or any input she can get her hands on. Email Laura

Samuel Lawton

Samuel has called The Chapel his home since 1988 and currently leads our Morning Worship and music events. A graduate of Anderson University in Music Business, Samuel is a studio owner, recording engineer, producer, hired musician, music teacher and artist. Samuel’s passion to serve led him to develop “DIG” - a mission which provides manual labor and care packages to the poor in the county of Ukraine. In his involvement with young adults and his fellow men at The Chapel, he seeks to encourage a life of radical obedience to Christ.

Marguerite Havard

Marguerite serves in administration and communication for our office and staff. She really enjoys serving our entire church leadership so they can be more effective in their individual areas of ministry. She also feels blessed to head up our Chapel Women’s Ministry. Marguerite graduated from Cottey College and Purdue University, where she met husband John in the Navigators ministry. They have three daughters. Marguerite loves spending her free time baking, taking photos and finishing perpetual do-it-yourself projects. Email Marguerite

Nancy Kirby

Nancy helps keep the financial side of things running smoothly as well as being available to help anyone at any time. A graduate of Butler University, Nancy and husband John both serve in children’s ministries at The Chapel and have three children of their own. Nancy enjoys knitting, doing internet research, and teaching tricks to her dogs Maggie and Libby. Email Nancy

Elders

Jorge Arroyo

Jorge serves as Council secretary and leads in children and youth ministry teaching, Life Group and missions ministries at The Chapel. He is a technical executive with IBM and a graduate of Purdue University. Jorge is passionate about teaching and helping people apply the Word in their lives in order to grow in Christ’s likeness. Jorge and his wife, Susan, have four children ranging in ages from 9 to 18 years. Jorge spends his spare time following Purdue and local sports as well as coaching and other activities with his kids.

John Kirby

John lives in Carmel with his wife Nancy and three children. He loves the challenges and responsibilities of his job as a commercial property manager in the Carmel area. His hobbies include computers, working on the yard and relaxing with the Discovery Channel. John has attended The Chapel since 1981 and enjoys seeing God's hand leading The Chapel through many changes. Along with serving as an elder, John is a Life Group leader, leads CLK youth and is a member of a number of committees that deal with the day to day activities of The Chapel.

Don Lawton

Don has led many different ministries throughout his 40+ years attending The Chapel. He owns a general dentistry practice in Indianapolis and has served as Pastor of the Russian Speaking Church (which meets at The Chapel on Sunday afternoons) since 1997. Don also serves as Executive Director of Mission to Ukraine, an indigenously run ministry that serves the Zhitomir region, ministering to the most marginalized of Ukraine - the unborn and the disabled. Don is head of The Chapel Missions committee and enjoys teaching books of the Bible in our adult Sunday School classes. Don and wife Molly enjoy regularly opening their home for hospitality and encouragement. Their son Sam, a recent graduate of Anderson University, directs his dad in The Chapel Praise Band.

Jim Martin

Jim joined The Chapel in membership in 1980. He serves on the Council as an Elder in charge of finance. He and wife Elise married at The Chapel in 1978 and raised four children here. Jim himself grew up in a Christian home, the son of a pastor, and came to know the Lord as his Savior as a child. He has an education degree from Grace College and Indiana University. He works as a high school Athletic Director.

Rob Johnson

Robbie Johnson shares his talents and time in many ways at The Chapel – not the least of which is supporting the church body in his role of deacon on the Chapel Council. Rob is a graduate of Indiana University and works as a CPA with an accounting firm in Carmel. He and his wife Jenny are enjoying raising their daughter to love Jesus, others and Hoosier basketball. Together they are avid fans of Indianapolis sporting events and concerts.
